This is a verrry beautiful golf course, it has 11 holes near the beach, it's a long golf course, difficult. I hate to say that in a couple of years it will be ranking with the best, because there is another golf club here, The Teeth of the Dog (Diente de perro, la romana) which ranks 22nd in the world and Playa Grande is way much better and more difficult than La Romana.
3 hole= par 3, 185-190 yds with the sea in the right side, it's like an island.
4 hole= par 5, 575yds, the sea all the way to the green, dog right.
7 hole= par 3 195 yds, against the wind, water in front too, little island, I hit driver one time, and I'm a 7 hdcp.
8 hole= par 4, kind of a dog right, with water all the left side of the fairway to the green.
9 hole= long par 4, sea all the way to the green, dog left.
12 hole= woooouuu!! when you get there, it separates low handicaps from the rest, this is a par 5 dog left, but you need to hit a 245 drive to the fairway in order to jump a front water (sea)... it's a verrry terrific hole when you get to the tee. Your second shot to the green is protected with water all the way along the fairway to the green whitch is a little island too.
13 hole, par 4 looong, you have to be verrry straight to hit the fairway of around 55yds wide but with a lot of wind. The green is difficult to get. It has a verrry beautiful view from the fairway to the green.
14 par 3, 168 yds island with the ocean in front.
17 par 3 depends on the flag, 85 yds green it could be 165yds one day and 200 plus yard the other.
18 par 5, around 575yds with ocean on the right, it's a dog right. The green is elevated so that the second shot is more difficult, besides the ocean around the green.
I can't explain the beauty of this golf cours. It was the last Robert Trent golf design, people say that this was his goodbye.
I hope that somebody reads this, I don't know how to explain the beauty of it, but I have played on many golf courses in the US, Doral , bla, bla, bla, but nothing like this!
