This Week at WorldGolf.com: Jan. 11, 2005 Years of broken promises have taught me to stop making new year's resolutions. Fortunately, that hasn't stopped many of my colleagues, including blogger Dave Berner. Among his resolutions: Don't take the game so seriously. "For years I worked on my game diligently in a regimented fashion," he writes. "You know what? Whether I worked on it regularly or irregularly my handicap never changes. So, I resolve to practice only when I really want to, play more, and always have fun." Blogger Kiel Christianson isn't making any resolutions, but he did make time last week to make a few bold predictions for 2005. "Paula Creamer will win an LPGA event," he predicts. "And her adorable belly peeking out from under her shirt on her follow-through will have a significant impact on male viewership of women's tournaments." Christianson also sees two majors in Vijay Singh's future this year. Rest assured, we'll check back a year from now to see how our man with the crystal Titleist did. If you're looking for a little comic relief, be sure to check our newest golf cartoon, "Life in the Trap," by Rick Newell. The cartoon will soon be appearing regularly at BadGolfer.com, which made surprising news last week by naming Auburn University's football team as its national champion. As always, your comments are welcome on any topic. Have a great week.

Of course, there is already a huge industry built around highly-paid teachers telling people how to swing a golf club. GolfPsych focuses more on the crucial mental game.

Equipment companies are picking up on the increased interest in the LPGA by offering women high-performance sets designed especially for players with two X-chromosomes. One of the newest of these is the Nickent Goddess Collection. From the Winn Master Wrap grips through the 65-gram UST Ultralight Ladies' Flex shafts, there appears to be nothing second-rate about Nickent's ladies' offering.
