This Week at WorldGolf.com: Jan. 18, 2005 Maybe Paul Casey is a generational issue. My younger and more naive colleague Chris Baldwin, in a recent TravelGolf blog, calls me an out-of-touch, slightly insane, old hippie-geezer for my strong reactions to the Englishmans outspoken words against us fine folks here in the USA. Casey said he "properly hated" the Americans on the Ryder Cup team. How exactly does one "properly hate?" Is there a correct procedure or protocol to follow when hating? Like bowing to the Queen? Casey also said American fans can be "bloody annoying." What I find annoying is the Brits incessant use of the word "bloody" as a bloody adverb. Is Casey really an "innocent and fun-loving" guy as my impressionable, British wannabe colleague contends, or is he an ungrateful, upper-crust British snob/hypocrite who is biting the hand that feeds him? Is a pie in the face too much to ask as punishment, or should we let blokes (see, I can speak British) like that get away with saying anything they want about us? Remember, this is the same country that has a royal family member who likes to dress up as a Nazi. As always, your comments are welcome on any topic. Have a great week.
